DA 40 roof inlet

Negative and equal pressure systems for the calves barn and milking parlor

A fresh air inlet system is essential for proper air distribution and mixing in all livestock-occupied areas. When designed and installed correctly, inlets provide fresh air evenly throughout the room without causing drafts. SKOV-SECCO offers two different types of roof inlets, both can be used for either negative or equal pressure systems – the DA 40 and DA 60-820 roof inlet.

The DA 40 is a roof inlet used as an air intake or air supply unit in livestock houses, including dairy. The roof unit for the inlet is made of polyester-reinforced fiberglass for maximum weather resistance. The extension duct and air supply unit are made of polyurethane foam to reduce condensation. A small mixing fan for placement in the nozzle head is also supplied, ensuring an optimum induction of the fresh air by which the draft is avoided. If DA 40 is used as an air intake unit in negative pressure systems, the maximum performance is 4,500 m3/h.

If the air supply fan is installed, the performance is 5,000-8,400 m3/h, depending on the type of fan and geometry of the house. The air mixer ensures that the cold incoming air is mixed and carried by warm air inside the barn. The air intake unit has a swivel shutter to correct the incoming air volume and optimum system pressure adjustment.

Features and benefits:

  • Uniform distribution and climate – also in wide livestock houses.
  • Not sensitive to the wind conditions outside.
  • Equipped with a swivel shutter to ensure the precise incoming air volume and adjust optimum system pressure.
